Unifying B2B Sales for Scott Electrical with Shopify Plus.

Scott Electrical, New Zealand’s leading electrical supplies wholesaler with 16 locations nationwide, needed a comprehensive digital platform to enhance their B2B operations. Their goal was to unify both their in-store and online sales processes, improve customer experience, and streamline backend operations. Scott Electrical required a solution that would allow them to serve their B2B customers, including smaller trade businesses, in a more flexible, B2C-style online environment while maintaining B2B functionality like custom pricing and account management.

They approached Zyber to implement an eCommerce platform that would integrate with their NetSuite ERP system and provide a scalable, user-friendly interface for their customers.

Zyber worked closely with NetSuite partner Fusion5 to deliver a custom solution on Shopify Plus, focused on providing a seamless, omnichannel experience for Scott Electrical's B2B clients.

What We Implemented.

Omnichannel integration

Customers can now see their in-store and online purchases reflected in their online accounts, ensuring they have full visibility across all touchpoints.

Klaviyo integration

To support customer engagement, Klaviyo was introduced as a marketing automation tool, enabling personalised marketing campaigns based on customer behaviour, order history, and account activity.

Headless ‘My Account’ section with Shopify Hydrogen

We implemented a headless "My Account" system using Shopify Hydrogen, which pulls real-time data from NetSuite. This feature enabled B2B customers to view invoices (including in-store purchases), past orders, quotes, account balances, and tailored pricing, all in one place. Customers can also place orders on behalf of their teams, making the platform ideal for larger businesses with multiple users.

B2B experience with B2C-like functionality

While maintaining traditional B2B features such as account-specific pricing and access control, we designed the platform to offer a smooth, B2C-style experience. Smaller B2B customers, such as tradies, can now easily browse products, see pricing once logged in, and complete purchases in a streamlined, user-friendly manner, akin to B2C platforms.

NetSuite integration with Fusion5

The project involved tight collaboration with Fusion5 to integrate Shopify Plus with NetSuite, ensuring that inventory, pricing, and customer data were synced across all locations and channels. This integration supports real-time updates and ensures the platform runs smoothly for both B2B customers and internal teams.
